The center was established in 2004 on the basis of the Tashkent Regional Center of Eye Microsurgery. Since 2009, it has been the main institution of the country for ophthalmology, and provides organizational and methodological guidance to the entire ophthalmological service of the country.

The center has an inpatient unit with 90 beds, a polyclinic with 250 visits per shift, an operating unit with 10 microscopes, 6 modern phacoemulsifiers and a vitreotome, a centralized sterilization unit, a clinical and biochemical laboratory, and auxiliary units.

The center has implemented and successfully conducted:

the “gold” standard of cataract surgical treatment;
phacoemulsification method with femtosecond laser accompaniment, implantation of various models of intraocular lenses, both in adult patients and in children;
intraocular refractive surgical treatment of refractive errors;
developed and improved systemic approaches in glaucoma surgery that ensure stable normalization of intraocular pressure;
keratoplasty (layered, through) and amnioplastyin various pathologies of the cornea;
surgical interventions forlacrimal obstruction, plastic surgery on the eyelids, correction of strabismus;
laser operations for diseases of the anterior and posterior segments of the eyeball, as well as keratorefractive surgery with using excimer photoablation.

Children with amblyopia and strabismus are treated on an outpatient basis using special computer programs.

The center employs about 40 medical professionals, including 6 Doctors of Medical Sciences and 9 Candidates of Medical Sciences, and more than 70% of doctors have the highest qualification category. It offers patients comfortable rooms. VIP rooms are equipped with air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, and Wi-Fi.
