The center was founded in 2017 on the basis of the Republican Scientific Center of Neurosurgery, the organizer and the first director of which was the Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor M. Kh. Kariev. The center was established as a comprehensive research, consulting, methodological and medical institution, which employs neurosurgeons and other specialists.

This principle comprehensively solved the entire course of the formation of domestic neurosurgery and contributed to the development of such new disciplines as neurorentgenology with computed tomography, otoneurology and neuro-ophthalmology, neurophysiology, psychoneurosurgery, etc.

The center is designed for 157 beds, and there are 7 specialized units: vascular neurosurgery, peripheral nerve pathology and rehabilitation, spinal neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, neurosurgery of the base of the skull, pediatric neurosurgery, emergency neurosurgery, which carry out the most modern high-tech methods of diagnosis and treatment of neurosurgical pathology in children and adults. Every year, about 5,000 patients are treated here, not only from Uzbekistan, but also from a number of other countries.

It is a leading neurosurgical center of the country, and it ensures the development of neurosurgical services in Uzbekistan.

The Board of the Republican Association of Neurosurgeons operates on the basis of the center. The Association of Neurosurgeons of Uzbekistan is accepted in the World Association of Neurosurgeons.
