The center was established in 2017 on the basis of the Republican Cancer Research Center, which was originally organized in 1962 as the Research Institute of Oncology and Radiology of the Academy Sciences of Uzbekistan. The great merit in its organization belongs to Professor D. M. Abdurasulov (1921-1990) – the first director of the Institute.

The center consists of the following inpatient units: colorectal, urology, thoracic and abdominal surgery, gynecology, mammalogy, ophthalmology, oncology of musculoskeletal system, the head and neck , two chemotherapy units for adults, children oncology, pediatric chemotherapy, radiotherapy, anesthesiology, resuscitation and intensive care –with 370 beds in total, as well as advisory diagnostic polyclinic for 250 visits per shift, and support units.

The main areas of activity of the center are: oncomammology, oncoophthalmology, head and neck tumors, thoracoabdominal neoplasms, oncocoloproctology, oncourology, tumors of the musculoskeletal system, pediatric oncology, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.

A waiting room with facilities (electronic patient registration system, consultation-filter for patients, TV, Wi-Fi) has been created for the convenience of patients coming from different regions of the country and other countries. For inpatient patients, each unit features comfortable rooms with necessary amenities and service. Sightseeing of Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara can be organized.
