Today, March 11, 2025, a significant event took place: the Medical Tourism Association of the Republic of Uzbekistan was included as a member organization on the Presidium of the Silk Road Economic Alliance. The Silk Road Economic Alliance was established on March 29, 2014, following the initiative to jointly build the Silk Road Economic Belt, put forward by President Xi Jinping during his visit to Central Asia.
The founders of the Silk Road Economic Alliance are the Xinjiang Industrial and Construction Corps International Chamber of Commerce, the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce of Importers and Exporters, Huahe International Business Consulting, the Armenian Development Agency, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan, the Kyiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, the Almaty Chamber of Trade and Investment, and other domestic and foreign trade promotion agencies.
The purpose of the Silk Road Economic Alliance is to stimulate regional economic cooperation. It facilitates the implementation of intergovernmental agreements through forums, exchange visits, and the publication of information on its website. It discusses key projects and issues related to the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt, creates a platform for cooperation between enterprises, and assists them in finding support from government, financial, legal, and consulting institutions.

This event further confirms Uzbekistan’s growing authority in the international medical tourism market and recognizes the Association’s work in this area.
